At Tecate Horse Rescue, we know that horses have a unique ability to bring people together. That’s why we created The Herd Experience—a customizable retreat program designed for groups who want to connect, grow, and celebrate in the presence of horses and the natural beauty of our 100-acre ranch.
Whether you're planning a corporate event, team-building retreat, wedding, private wellness getaway, father-and-son gathering, or other special event, our team will work with you to design a meaningful experience that combines the magic of horses with the serenity of the ranch.
Program Options
Every retreat is tailored to your group’s goals, and may include
- Equine Connection Modules- guided herd experiences, horsemanship, and trust-building activities.
- Wellness & Mindfulness- yoga, tai chi, meditation, campfire circles, and nature walks.
- Off-Grid Living Skills- fire building, water harvesting, shelter making, and survival basics.
- Creative Expression- leatherwork, art, music, and storytelling.
- Adventure & Recreation- hiking, obstacle challenges, and team-building games.
- Celebration & Ceremony- a unique setting for weddings, milestones, and family gatherings.
Retreats may also include meals and beverages provided by our team, or groups may choose to bring their own food and drinks.
You may choose from day-only events, overnight experiences, or weekend retreats. Overnight stays include the option of tent camping (guests bring their own tent and gear) for a true back-to-nature experience.

Pricing & Details
- Base Rate: $150 per person for the first 2 hours (minimum booking).
- Additional Time & Custom Content: Fees are based on program design, number of modules, and event length.
- Day, Overnight, and Weekend Events Available - pricing customized during scheduling.
- 100% of all proceeds go directly to help the Herd That Heals - providing food, medical care, shelter, training, and ongoing rehabilitation for our rescued horses.
